Honoring Veterans – colleagues, loved ones, and friends.
A Letter from Hypori’s CEO
November marks the start of National Veterans and Military Families Month. While my company, my employees, and I honor Veterans throughout the year, I specifically wanted to take the time to show appreciation to those who have served our nation. This extends beyond just our Veteran colleagues and partners – it encompasses our loved ones and friends as well.
Over the years, as a former infantryman, non-commissioned officer (NCO), and civilian who deployed alongside brothers and sisters in uniform, I have developed a different understanding of the “Ultimate Sacrifice” than we were taught in school as kids.
The loss of life in the service of our nation is, without doubt, the greatest of sacrifices. A sacrifice that leaves a gaping hole that our nation can never fill, a price that can never be repaid or returned to the families. However, I also believe sacrifice manifests in more ways than just that. It is bigger than that. The ultimate sacrifice is about giving some part of yourself, for something that is bigger than all of us. Sacrificing for your country is an act of profound selflessness. That sacrifice can manifest by losing a limb, losing a friend, repeatedly entering harm's way to protect those on your left and right, or just losing precious time away from your children in the service of your country.
In our commitment to honoring these different facets of sacrifice, I asked our employees to nominate a Veteran they wanted to recognize and to explain why it's significant to work for a mission-focused, Veteran-owned company.
Here’s what they shared:
“It is nice to work with veterans, especially ones we have personally served and suffered alongside. We all share a bond by virtue of service, and it is deeper with them. Working with motivated and respectable people is always a welcome experience!” - Lucas Wallin, Customer Support Specialist
“I am very proud to work for a mission-minded, veteran-owned company. I believe our mission at Hypori is to help protect electronic data and keep data out of the hands of bad actors in this world. There is a great need and competition for what we do. I believe we have the opportunity to do it the best and I look forward to continuing our mission.” - Paul Lopez, Director of Finance and Accounting
“I want to work for a company that is making a positive impact on the world. Mission-minded companies are typically focused on solving social or environmental problems. Veteran-owned companies often have a strong commitment to supporting other veterans and their families. I want to be a part of a company that is making a difference in the world, and I believe that Hypori is doing just that.” - Amy Bailik, Customer Success Manager
At Hypori, we maintain close partnerships with various branches of the U.S. military and the Department of Defense. I want to express and extend Hypori's collective gratitude and appreciation for those who have devoted their lives to safeguarding our freedom. As a Veteran, as a business owner, and as an American... thank you for your service and sacrifice!
Thank you,
Jared Shepard
