Leadership
Jared N. Shepard
Jared is an experienced and innovative industry leader with over twenty years of information technology, federal services, and sales experience. He is a U.S. Army veteran who, following his time in uniform, became the Lead Technical Planner for III Corps, U.S. Army. Jared deployed from 2003-2005 with CJTF-7 and MNC-I, where he helped architect the U.S.-built DoD Iraqi network infrastructure. In 2006, he founded Intelligent Waves to support a critical need of the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO). He personally deployed to build the first Counter-IED Operational Intelligence Center (COIC) into MNC-I, then building COIC capability into every Major Command in Iraq and Afghanistan. Jared grew Intelligent Waves around tactical and strategic needs of the Warfighter. He established Hypori as a spinoff company in 2021 and is a member of the Hypori Board of Directors.
Jared is the Founder and Chair of Warriors Ethos, a veteran-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Jared and Hypori have won numerous awards, including the 2020 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Mid-Atlantic Region), George C. Marshall International Center 2021 Innovation Leadership award, two 2021 Gold Cybersecurity Excellence awards, sixth place in the Security category as a Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company 2021, and Monster.com and Military.com “Top 10 National Company for Veterans” from 2016-2020.
Jim Cushman
As President of Commercial Markets and Chief Product Officer, Jim Cushman brings to Hypori 3 decades of entrepreneurial grit, strategic product development, and proven high growth experience. In his role at Hypori, Cushman assembles and leads Hypori’s mission of enabling secure, edge access from any device, everywhere. In addition, as Hypori’s Chief Product Officer, he oversees product strategy, management, engineering, and operations. He is also a member of the Hypori Board of Directors.
Cushman’s highly-accomplished career has focused on massively scaling and growing mission-critical product-centric technology companies. Before joining Hypori, Cushman served as CPO at Collibra, where he successfully established a market-leading product strategy and vision for Data Intelligence, built an A-team of practitioners, and substantially helped grow the company.
Before Collibra, Cushman served as SVP and GM for Veeva Systems, where he helped expand the company’s public market cap by nearly 500% in 3 years. Before that, Cushman served as president of commercial & products at Novetta, an advanced analytics company.
Cushman is a coveted and influential speaker at national technology and growth conferences, holds eight technology patents and pending patents, and serves as a Strategic Advisor to numerous software startups. He has a BS in Management and Finance from Purdue University.
Matthew Stern
Matt is an experienced cybersecurity executive leader in both the private and public sectors. Matt led professional services for a premier cyber threat intelligence company and the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) contract team. He was also the Program Director for system engineering, design, and deployment of the National Cyber Protection System (EINSTEIN) and the Deputy CIO for the largest ever deployed military communication system supporting 150,000 Operation Iraqi Freedom II soldiers.
Matt is a retired and decorated twenty-two-year U.S. Army combat veteran whose service culminated in command of the Army Computer Emergency Response Team (ACERT). He holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems and Computer Resource Management from Webster University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.
Jerry Raphael
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hypori, Jerry Raphael oversees finance, business and legal affairs, human resources, recruiting, and facilities management. With more than 25 years of experience in strategic financial operations, Raphael has a proven record of driving technology companies to succeed through financial scalability, operational excellence, and a people-first culture.
Prior to joining Hypori, Raphael most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Securonix, where he was focused on rapidly scaling the security information and event management (SIEM) provider’s profitably. Raphael also held the CFO position at Axonius, a leader in cybersecurity asset management, where he facilitated multiple funding rounds, and led the team through hypergrowth including international expansion. Additionally, he has also held leadership roles at Stack Overflow, Vibrant Media, and WWE, and spent 10 years at Grant Thornton advising clients on SEC regulations as they took their companies public.
Raphael attended Saint John's University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business and he currently resides in New York.
Wayne Lewandowski
As CRO, Wayne Lewandowski oversees sales, sales engineering, marketing, customer success, and partner relations. With over 20 years of experience in direct sales and executive sales leadership, he has driven significant growth and operational efficiency.
Prior to Hypori, Wayne led sales at Xage Security and Entrust, following the acquisition of HyTrust. Wayne's leadership style is characterized by a commitment to excellence, a focus on repeatability and scale, and a collaborative approach that fosters teamwork and innovation.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Quantitative Analysis from the University of Pittsburgh.
Brian Vetter
Brian has over twenty-five years of enterprise software experience and has held leadership positions at Hypori, BlueSpace (now Sterling Computers), Motive, Inc. (now Nokia), and Tivoli (now IBM). He is an expert in mobile software and management, distributed systems management, distributed object technology, networking, nested transaction technologies, and UNIX and Linux operating systems. Brian also contributed to standards for device management at the DLS Forum, CableLabs, and DMTF organizations and for distributed technologies at the Object Management Group (OMG). He is an inventor on twenty-nine patents across five different companies, including at Hypori.
Brian has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Texas, Austin.
Eric Wang
Eric Wang has over twenty years of global experience delivering technology-differentiated solutions to both private and public organizations. He has worked with various businesses ranging from early-stage start-ups to established enterprise businesses, where he built extensive private and public cloud technology platforms. Eric has significant expertise and years of experience in managing Engineering, Cloud Operations, Customer Success, IT, and Infosec teams. He also manages all facets of SaaS public and private cloud applications and infrastructure solutions with a track record of achieving and maintaining 99.99 availability.
Michael Turner
As Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Field Technical Services at Hypori, Michael Turner leads the company’s customer-facing technical functions, spanning pre-sale, post-sale, customer success, and support. With extensive experience in cybersecurity and enterprise technology, Turner is dedicated to delivering strategic, customer-centric solutions that drive operational excellence.
Turner’s prior leadership roles include Vice President of Field Technical Services at AppViewX, where he directed pre- and post-sales engineering, and Vice President of Sales Engineering at HyTrust, where he developed key solutions for security and trust management. These experiences have honed his expertise in crafting and executing customer enablement strategies that maximize client satisfaction and retention.
At Hypori, Turner focuses on advancing secure, scalable solutions that maximize customer value and address evolving cybersecurity needs. He combines deep technical expertise with strategic insights to drive Hypori’s growth and innovation, continuously strengthening the company’s role in security, privacy, and customer success.
Holly Bone
Holly Bone is an accomplished marketing and operations leader with extensive experience in strategic brand development, marketing, creative, and communications. Currently serving as the Vice President of Marketing at Hypori, she has been pivotal in growing Hypori’s brand visibility and expanding the company’s market growth beyond Defense and Government. Prior to Hypori, Holly was the Senior Director of Marketing at Novetta, where she led marketing initiatives for over three years. In 2021, Holly was part of the strategic leadership team that facilitated the successful integration of Novetta into Accenture Federal Services.
Her significant tenure at Discovery Communications saw her in various leadership roles, including VP, Sales Operations, Creative and Marketing, where she oversaw creative for global consumer products, ran program sales operations, and lead marketing for Discovery Enterprises International. With a robust background in creative and sales operations, Holly brings a wealth of expertise in managing complex marketing and branding projects across diverse industries.
Holly has a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Indiana University and a Master of Fine Arts in Film from American University.
